Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Project Worker to work based in Wythenshawe, Manchester.

The pay rate for this Project Worker is to be confirmed and has an initial 3-month contract.

Working Hours:

  • Monday-Friday, 9:30am-5:30pm

Main Duties:

  • Supporting young people in the care of the Local Authority who are reported missing from home
  • Completion of Independent Return Home Interviews
  • To deliver the Missing From Home Return Interview Service as set out in the contract with Manchester City Council
  • To work within a multi-disciplinary approach in response to children missing from care
  • To ensure that children and young people who are at risk of or are missing, are kept safe and supported to reduce or prevent missing episodes.
  • To work within the community to provide information and education to young people, parents, professionals and the wider community about children who go missing.
  • To complete Missing from Care Return Interviews with children and young people.
  • Assess needs and risk, providing short term support
  • Take specific responsibility for direct work with referred children and young people and manage own caseload

Requirements of the Project Worker:

  • Level 3 YP qualification
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Knowledge of issues young people facing
  • Knowledge of Missing Service
  • Experience of Working with Young People
  • Strong communication skills
  • Some anti-social hours arising from operational needs relating to practice.
  • Possible overnight stays away from home.
  • A current driving licence, access to a vehicle and ability to transport children/young people.
