Role overview:
As Senior Nurse / Primary Care Lead, you will provide clinical leadership across primary care nursing services within the prison. You will support and manage a multidisciplinary nursing team while ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care. This role carries a strong leadership focus, with responsibility for standards, governance, and service development.
What you will do:
Provide clinical leadership for primary care nursing services within the prison
Lead the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of primary care services
Act as a senior clinical decision-maker for complex health presentations
Line manage and support nursing staff and healthcare assistants
Lead on supervision, appraisal, training, and professional development
Oversee management of long-term conditions, health promotion, and screening programmes
Ensure compliance with CQC, NHS, and prison healthcare standards
Work closely with GPs, mental health teams, substance misuse services, and prison staff
