Sanctuary Social Care has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Band 7 Practice Development Lead to work full-time within an Adult Disability Service based in Guernsey. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Adults' Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The salary for this permanent Practice Development Lead job is £41,956 - £50,172 per annum.

Job Summary:

  • To develop and participate in the delivery of an in service training and development programme within Adult Disability Service.

  • To participate in the planning and development of the service as a member of the Management and Governance Team and to provide advice to the Service Manager, Adult Disability Services on related matters.

  • To take on the role of lead person for the service audit programme, participating with other key professional staff in the audit of service facilities.

  • Be responsible for the overall supervision and development of all course participants and learners within Adult Disability Service in conjunction with the service manager.

  • In conjunction with service needs, identify develop and facilitate skills training programmes for all staff within the Adult Disability Service.

  • The post holder may be required to work across shifts in order to meet the development needs of all staff groups.

  • Maintain a clinical input as agreed with the Service Manager.

Requirements of the Practice Development Lead:

  • Registered Nurse/Social Worker

  • Teaching/Mentoring Qualification

  • Have recent community based experience.

  • Specialist knowledge of people who have a learning disability acquired through training and experience.

  • Be enthusiastic and motivated

  • Be able to work with a wide range of health and social care professionals but also work autonomously and independently.

  • Be flexible and adaptable

  • Able to work the hours required to ensure satisfactory performance.

  • A particular interest in and dedication to improving the services for people cared for in the learning disability services.

  • Good basic working knowledge of IT skills and Microsoft Word
