The salary for this permanent Paediatric Sonographer job is £50,000 – £58,000 per annum.

The Role
As a Paediatric Sonographer, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering top-quality ultrasound services to children, ensuring a high standard of patient care in every interaction. You’ll interpret ultrasound images, provide insightful diagnostic reports for clinicians, and contribute to improving patient outcomes in a fast-paced, yet supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of paediatric ultrasound examinations, providing accurate diagnostic reports.
• Deliver excellent care to young patients in a safe and friendly environment, ensuring they feel at ease.
• Collaborate with paediatricians and other clinicians, requesting Radiologist reviews when necessary.
• Manage clinic sessions efficiently, ensuring a smooth experience for both patients and staff.
• Actively participate in audits and clinical governance activities, contributing to service improvement.
• Provide guidance and training to other medical staff as agreed with the Clinical Regional Lead Sonographer.
• Continuously engage in professional development to stay at the forefront of medical ultrasound practices.

What You’ll Need:

• A UK-recognised qualification (PG Cert/Diploma/MSc) in Medical Ultrasound with CASE Accreditation.
• HCPC registration and experience in the UK NHS.
• Expertise in paediatric ultrasound, with additional skills in general medical and small parts scanning being advantageous.
• Compassion and empathy when working with children, making their experience as comfortable as possible.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills to manage patient flow and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
