Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for Operational policy delivery of the Unified Building Control profession to work full-time, fully remote. The pay rate for this locum Operational policy delivery of the Unified Building Control profession job is£530 per day (Assignment rate) and is an initial6-month contract.
The BSR will be responsible for:
- ensuring delivery of the new regulatory regime for in-scope buildings,
- oversight of the built environment, setting standards, providing advice to industry, and advising Government on changes to the scope of the new regime
- overseeing work to drive increased competence of professions and trades working on buildings.
Key responsibilities
- To provide technical input and advice on the design of the process which will assure competence in the building control profession. This will include:
- Developing a code of conduct for Registered Building Inspectors and professional conduct rules for Building Control Approvers
- Developing a competence framework for Registered Building Inspectors and act as HSE/BSR lead on the development of appropriate specifications/standards for building control professionals.
- Provide high quality briefings to HSE’s senior management, HSE’s Board and Ministers. Represent HSE’s interests at relevant steering groups
- Work collaboratively with internal HSE staff, other government departments and external stakeholders

Requirements:
- An experienced, building control professional with a comprehensive understanding of the profession
- Expert knowledge of building control regulations and processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders to help shape outcomes
- Experience in building and maintaining strong, positive working relationships, both internally and externally to an organisation
- Sound analytical skills to identify underlying issues
- Work under your own initiative making sound decisions based on evidence
- Good organisational and planning skills, taking responsibility for delivering outcomes on time to required standard
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
- The ability to write effectively and present complex information clearly and concisely for non-technical audiences.
- An understanding of professional regulation, and the role it plays in protecting the public and maintaining public interest.
- Knowledge of relevant qualifications for the building control profession and an understanding of relevant professional membership criteria
