Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work based in Maidenhead, within the Physical Disability and Older People Team (PDOPT).

The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist is £38,427 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Work with customers who require OT input to ensure individual needs are met and be responsible for a personal list of casework requiring OT input, providing information and advice to people and their carers. Alert manager when more senior input is required.
  • Complete OT assessment/decision reports and send for formal sign off, revising with customer as necessary to foe implementing the advised way forward.
  • Provide specialist assessments including but not excluded to manual handling, seating, environmental adaptations, rehousing assessments, safeguarding related assessments and DFG applications.
  • Provide training according to individual need to meet desired outcomes.
  • Develop processes to improve communication with residents and care providers within the community with a focus on prevention.
  • Arrange, implement, and review support arrangements and resources, carrying out minor adjustments as necessary to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Respond to / raise alerts in regard to Safeguarding issues and undertake Safeguarding Investigations where necessary.
  • Provide emotional support and respond to day-to-day ongoing problems encountered by caseload and colleagues.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Recent post qualifying experience working as an Occupational Therapist, including experience of working with vulnerable adults (eg. Learning Disabilities, Older Persons, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health).
  • Good knowledge of the needs of vulnerable adults and their carers, principles and practice of risk assessment, and an awareness of the Eligibility Criteria within Adult Social Care.
  • Manual Handling experience.
  • Full driving licence and access to personal vehicle.
  • Some availability to undertake work outside of normal office hours.
