Location: Eastbourne

Contract Type:  PERMANENT, 37.5 hours per week

Pay Rate: £25,655 - £31,534 per annum

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:

 

  • As an Occupational Therapist in our team, you will assess the occupational therapy needs of the patient group and deliver programmes accordingly.  This will involve a recovery focused approach using both one to one interventions aimed at developing independent living skills and a variety of group work.
  • The role will also involve supporting individuals to access and participate in community/vocational activities. 
  • You will supervise junior staff and support the senior OT in contributing to service development.
  • You will manage a caseload of clients on the ward, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • As part of the team you will also be expected to make an ongoing contribution to the team and the community we serve.  A willingness to work as a team member is a core requirement of the role. 
  • You will also demonstrate both experience and a strong commitment to working with people with complex needs and the development of the therapeutic programme on offer.  
  • You will be supported by a strong professional leadership structure with regular OT clinical and management supervision as well as regular peer support and a well-established AHP training prospectus and opportunities for regular CPD. 

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent NHS experience
  • Registered with the HCPC
