Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a locum vacancy for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work in based in Clevedon.

The pay rate for this locum Occupational Therapist job is £24 - £25 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 1-month contract.

Duties:

  • Provide a safe, patient centred, effective and evidence-based occupational therapy service in the Rehab Unit
  • Provide specialist assessment, rehabilitation and management for people with long term conditions including the promotion of health and prevention of secondary complications
  • Work within the Adult Service to deliver both acute and long term therapy and clinical activities, supported by a robust competency framework to adults on the Pathway 3 caseload
  • Be part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team (MDT), which includes Nurses, occupational therapists and other Allied Healthcare Professionals
  • Work variable days and shifts over 7 day period between the hours of 08.00 am – 20.00 pm in order to meet the needs of the service
  • Responsible for the initial holistic assessment , implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for patients who are acutely and chronically unwell; often with complex needs arising from the frail elderly cohort
  • Operational management of a delegated number of staff with support from Senior Manager
  • Act as an ambassador and represent the organisation at a variety of forms

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent NHS experience either pre or post qualification
  • Be able and willing to travel throughout the service delivery geographical area
  • Able to effectively lead a team with senior support when required
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement current local and national initiatives
  • Recent relevant experience within the community setting including management of the frail complex patient
  • Previously worked with a range of professionals in Health or Social Care
  • Full driving licence and access to car in work time (with business use car insurance)
  • Relevant community experience
  • Membership of Chartered Society of Occupational therapy
