Sanctuary Health has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Occupational Therapist to work full-time within an Adults Mental Health Service in Stoke-on-Trent. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.

The salary for this Permanent Occupational Therapist job is £25,350 - £33,033 per annum.

Summary:

  • The post will be within a mental health hospital that provides specialist assessments, treatments and rehabilitation for adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, autistic spectrum disorders, including those with varying degrees of challenging behaviours and forensic histories. The Hospital has 46 beds spread across six wards.
  • As an Occupational Therapist you will need to participate in the provision of high quality therapeutic activities, using a wide range of approaches to suit the patient's varying needs. Encourage independence and personal choice and help to provide an environment which is conducive to patients with varied and complex needs realising their potential to live as independently as they can find possible.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Have a qualification in Occupational Therapy (Diploma/Bachelor/Master's degree)
  • Be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, carers, members of the MDT and senior professional and managerial staff
  • Have a person centered ethos, showing empathy and a desire to make a difference
  • Be flexible and adaptable, well organised and able to manage time and workload effectively in line with the needs of the service
  • Recent UK experience working as a Occupational Therapist
