Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist to work based in Newham, within the Community Adults Mental Health Service.

The pay rate for this locum Senior Occupational Therapist job is £26.82 per hour (assignment rate) and is a 1-month contract.

Main Duties:

  • Take a managerial role in the development, provision, and implementation of a specialist area of Occupational Therapy Intervention.
  • Work as an effective liaison between the unit and other inpatient adolescent unit Nationwide.
  • Provide highly effective, individualised and specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment.
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and contribute an occupation-focused understanding of a young person’s difficulties and needs.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy that is sensitive to the developmental, cultural, and highly complex mental health needs of the young people in the Service.
  • Provide clinical supervision to qualified staff and students.
  • Contribute to the clinical development of the Occupational Therapy team and other staff.
  • Carry a complex caseload, demonstrate the acquisition of advanced clinical reasoning skills and promote and develop evidence-based practice within the specialist area of practice.
  • Assess the home environment is and when necessary.
  • Consult with family or other carers as appropriate theoretical approaches to therapy in order to aid discharge planning and community care plans.
  • Organise, develop, and implement individual and/or group work skills as appropriate in order to achieve the most effective therapeutic intervention.
  • Maintain accurate records of Occupational Therapy Individual and group programmes, providing specialist occupational therapy reports to clients (and/or carers), relevant professionals and agencies where appropriate maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Requirements of the Senior Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Recent post-qualifying experience working as an Occupational Therapist.
