Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a permanent vacancy for an Occupational Therapist to work based in Saffron Walden, within the Local Authority Adaptions Team with a particular focus on Housing and Manual Handling.
The salary for this permanent Occupational Therapist job is negotiable with the client.
The position is office-based in Saffron Walden with regular travel to Southend-on-Sea. Occasional wider UK travel and overnight stops may be required, as dictated by client and team requirements.
Duties:
- Supporting a local authority adaptations team to provide major and minor adaptations and specialist equipment to people’s homes, to improve independence and safety
- Undertake occupational therapist assessments of the housing needs of adults with disabilities
- Come up with suitable solutions to your clients’ challenging problems
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
- Recent NHS experience either pre or post qualification
- Knowledge of specialist equipment, adaptations and manual handling is required in order to recommend suitable solutions for clients
- The ability to improve people’s lives by recommending adaptations to overcome environmental barriers
- Occupational therapist experience specialising in housing and manual handling
- Passionate about improving people’s lives and also wanting to develop yourself and your career
