Job Title: Locum Podiatrist – Band 7 – Diabetes/Wound Specialist
Location: West Essex – Loughton, Harlow, Epping, Waltham Abbey
Salary: £31 Hourly
Type: Part Time, 3 Days a Week (22.5 Hours)

As a Locum Podiatrist specialising in Diabetes and Wound care, you will work across the beautiful West Essex locales of Loughton, Harlow, Epping, and Waltham Abbey. With an attractive hourly rate and the flexibility of a part-time schedule, this ongoing position provides a unique blend of community and hospital work that promises no two days are the same.
What you will do:
- Be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, providing high-level care and innovative treatment plans for high-risk patients with diabetic and wound care needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients who may have barriers to understanding, ensuring clear advice and treatment plans are delivered.
- Travel between various community and hospital settings, managing your caseload independently.
- Support and deputise for the team lead and service manager as needed, including managing team rotas and prioritising patient care during staff absences.
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnoses, and develop specialised care programmes, particularly for those with acute conditions.
- Offer expert advice and education on foot health to patients, relatives, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in departmental surgery and diabetic assessment clinics, using advanced techniques to evaluate and identify foot pathology.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring it is clean and ready for use, and manage stock effectively.
