Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to work full-time in Enfield, within the emergency Duty Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in adults' services and be registered with the HCPC.


The pay rate for this locum Mental Health Practitioner job is £32.00-£35.00 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.


This role will be required on an ad hoc basis, to assist when necessary cover is required. It will not be more than 2/3 shift per week. Shift pattern during the week is 5pm to 9am (16 hours) weekends are from 9am until 9pm or 9pm until 9am (12-hour shifts).

EDT will also liaise and work in partnership with Multi agency partners. The emergency duty team does not offer the equivalent to day services its principle objective is to keep service users' carers/ children and adults at risk safe until intervention from day services can be put in place and where a delay could cause further deterioration or risks to individuals.


Duties of the Mental Health Practitioner:

  • To provide an emergency duty service out of hours including bank holidays and other public holidays
  • To safeguard children and adults at risk in an emergency and respond to immediate referrals on behalf of the local authority, regarding child protection/ children in need, requests for mental health act assessments and adult social care


Requirements of the Mental Health Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within adults' services
