Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a locum vacancy for a Band 5 Medicines Management Nurse to work 37.5 hours per week, based in Devizes.

The pay rate for this locum Medicines Management Nurse job is £30 - £40 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 12-month contract.

Duties:

  • Working within our strong Medicines Management Team to help safely supply and administer medicines to patients
  • Help deliver minor ailments services, serve as a key point of advice to patients in regards to medicines management, help manage the prison’s medicine supplies, and help with medicines reconciliation and supporting patients with their prescription pathways
  • Serve as a vital point of contact for patients in HMP Bristol – you’ll empower the prison’s population to understand their medicines better and critically manage their own self-care in regards to their long-term health
  • Safely administer medicines according to Organisational Medicines Management Policy and local Standard Operating Procedures
  • Supervise and support all staff in the process of medicines administration
  • Identify opportunities for development through the individual performance review process and take relevant action to achieve objectives
  • Partake in clinical supervision in line with organisational policy
  • Supervise, administer and supply medication as necessary, observing effects and side effects, regularly updating knowledge of commonly prescribed medicines
  • Deal with the storage and administration of drugs in accordance with legal requirements, local policies and procedures
  • Ensure that the management of all medicines, including controlled drugs, is in accordance with appropriate medicines legislation, standard operating procedures and policies
  • Contribute to, and participate in, clinical audits as appropriate
  • Assist in resolving problems involving the prescribing, administration, and operational aspects of medicines management

  • Active NMC Registration
