Sanctuary Social Care has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated (Level 7) Supervising Social Worker to work in Slough. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is £39,739 - £44,588 per annum with a market supplement of £1500.

Duties of the Supervising Social Worker:

  • Recruitment of foster carers
  • Taking initial fostering inquiries
  • Carrying out initial home visits of prospective foster carers;
  • Carrying out statutory checks of prospective carers;
  • Carrying out prep group/skills to foster training for prospective foster carers
  • Form F assessment of prospective foster carers and presentation to Panel;
  • Supervising and supporting Supported Lodgings Foster Carers in identifying their personal development needs and writing monthly supervision reports and children's monthly reports.
  • Attending multi-agency and multi-professional meetings such as Looked after child reviews and Personal Education Plan reviews.
  • Recording and uploading all reports, and work carried out onto the local authority's data base. (ICS)
  • Carrying out duty work.

Requirements of the Supervising Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
