Sanctuary Health has a permanent job vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Lead Theatre Practitioner to work full-time based in Worcestershire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The salary for this permanent Lead Theatre Practitioner role is £34,000 per annum.

Job Purpose:

  • Deliver safe quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care.

  • To lead and manage a team, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements within a peri-operative function or surgical specialty.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.

  • Lead the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.

  • Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.

  • Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.

  • Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients; demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.

  • Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.

  • Lead in the delivery of patient care, acting as functional / specialist practitioner.

  • Ensure that patient safety checks are carried out in accordance with the policy and that all practitioners adhere to the policy.

  • Contribute to quality improvement.

  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.

  • Promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice.

  • Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.

Requirements of the Lead Theatre Practitioner:

  • The successful candidate will put patient care at the heart of everything they do.

  • As a qualified practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration you will use your skills and knowledge to work well within a team, adopting a flexible and collaborative approach at all times.

  • Whether your background is in Scrub, Anaesthetics and/or Recovery you will be keen to learn and develop new skills to further grow your career.

  • SFA qualification desirable but qualification and training can be provided as part of the role. Candidate must have team leadership experience.
