Sanctuary Executive is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Interim Principal Social Worker to work full-time in Newham. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children services and be registered with the HCPC.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Adult Social Worker to drive forward sustained social work practice improvements. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will provide strong professional leadership, guidance and development for social work across Adult Social Care.
The pay rate for this locum Interim Principal Social Worker job is £42 to £45 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 6-month contract.
Duties:
Your role will be to relate the views of social workers to all levels of management. To provide independent scrutiny of social work practice and standards, delivering quality assurance and learning interventions to drive forward sustained improvements. You will ensure that the views and experiences of adults, their families and carers (and practitioners), inform service planning and delivery.
The Principal Social Worker (PSW) is responsible and accountable for excellent social work practice by ensuring social work and social care is well defined in Adult Social Care. The PSW should lead by example, be visible to the workforce and act as a voice for frontline practitioners to enable change within the organisation. The role has oversight of quality assurance, training and development including ASYE programme and Practice Educators training. The PSW role sits within the Senior Leadership Team and will advise Senior Managers on practice issues. To undertake the PSW role, you need to be an experienced registered social work manager who has lead on strategic improvement and has expert knowledge and skills to be able to advise a wide range of stakeholders on social care related matters.
Requirements of the Interim Principal Social Worker:
Professional Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS).
Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
Polices/legislation led rather than team management focused.
