Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Independent Social Worker to work full-time within an Adoption Assess Team based in Havering. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker role is £3,000 per assesment (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Job Summary:
- Contribute to the delivery of an effective Adoption recruitment and assessment service as part of a social work team, improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Manage caseloads of prospective adopters at all stages in the assessment process utilising a range of assessment tools and techniques in order to complete a comprehensive Prospective Adopter Report
- Provide advice and guidance for step-parents and other family members on family adoption processes and alternative orders.
- Provide expert advice and guidance for social work colleagues on recruitment and assessment processes Work with the communications service to provide high quality targeted adopter recruitment and community engagement events
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
- Ability to apply child care legislation to work practice.
- Ability to analyse complex situations.
- Ability to reflect and learn from own behaviour and feedback, identifying impact of action on others.
- Ability to make use of management systems including IT in recording, retrieval and analysis of information.
- Effective communication skills: written, verbal and listening.
- Hold a current drivers licence and have a car available for work.
