Sanctuary Executive is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Independent Scrutineer to work part-time (2 days per week) within a Children's Service based in the East Midlands.
The pay rate for this locum Independent Scrutineer job is from £450 - £500 per day.
Summary:
- The Independent Scrutineer will provide scrutiny, challenge and seek assurance from partners on the effectiveness of the children and young people safeguarding arrangements
- The postholder will provide effective and objective scrutiny and challenge and act as constructive critical friend as well as promoting reflection to drive continuous improvement to both the partnership and safeguarding practice.
- The post-holder will provide independent scrutiny to the Safeguarding Partnership ensuring that it fulfils its statutory responsibilities set out in the Children and Social Work Act 2017 and other related guidance to work collaboratively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- The role will include chairing the Quality & Governance Sub Group and Local Learning Review Sub Group of the Safeguarding Partnership.
- The post-holder will provide independent oversight and scrutiny on serious child safeguarding cases, through chairing the Local Learning Review Sub Group, ensuring that reviews are undertaken rigorously in line with statutory guidance and acting as liaison between the Safeguarding Partners and the National Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel on cases relating to children.
Requirements of the Independent Scrutineer:
- Experience within a similar role
- Required to have a very high degree of autonomy when planning their diary commitments and to fit in with the commitments of senior leaders across the 3 statutory partners.
- Be able to demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people's behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs
