Sanctuary Social Care has permanent vacancy for an Independent Reviewing Officer to work full-time based in Newham. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this permanent Independent Reviewing Officer role is £52,511 - £55,448 per annum.
Duties of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- To chair Looked After Children's Review meetings, as well as disruption meetings.
- provide specialist consultation and support to colleagues and training on a range of issues relating to the care of Looked After Children as well as setting standards and challenging current practices where appropriate to raise the quality of service delivery.
- Building positive relationships with others, while ensuring prompt and clear decisions are made for Children Looked After, monitoring those decisions and providing appropriate challenge and oversight of children's care plans towards permanency and stability.
Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
- Must need extensive knowledge of safeguarding and childcare legislation and best practice, including Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, 2010, Fostering Regulations, Working Together 2018 and a working knowledge of the IRO Handbook.
