Sanctuary Social Care is looking for an experienced and dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to work full-time in Southend-On-Sea. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The salary for this permanent Independent Reviewing Officer job is £44,632 - £49,479 per annum.
Duties:
- To review the cases of children who are looked after as laid down in Care Planning, Placement & Case Review Regulations England 2015 and Statutory Guidance and Adoption and Children Act 2002
- Take necessary decisions to confirm said Care Plan. You will also need to chair Child Protection Conferences in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children and Southend Safeguarding Partnership procedures.
Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant experience within a similar role
- Must have substantial experience of childcare work, experience of chairing meetings involving children, families and practitioners, and experience of management.
- Must have a good understanding of planning for children and excellent communications skills with children, families and professionals.
- Must have a strong commitment to promoting the voice of children within their meetings and within the organisation.
- Must have post qualifying experience of children and family social work including substantial experience in child protection and planning for looked after children, as well as a good working knowledge of childcare legislation.
