Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer to take on a position in Trafford.
The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this Independent Reviewing Officer is £35 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is available on a 3-month contract.
Trafford Council are looking for a suitably skilled and qualified Independent Reviewing Officer to continue to improve outcomes for children in Trafford.
You will develop close links with Trafford's After Care Team to successfully build relationships with our care leavers aged 18-25 years old and engage them in the Pathway Planning Process. We are reshaping our Pathway Planning process so that we can work even better with our care leavers on creative, aspirational plans with clear objectives that are meaningful for them.
Duties:
- You will carry a caseload and you will chair Pathway Plan Reviews predominantly but may also be required to chair occasional Child Protection Conferences and Looked After Child Reviews as well as supporting other agreed processes such as Case File Audits, Pathway Plan Reviews etc.
- There will be travel involved with the post as some of our care leavers live outside the Borough and there is an expectation that their reviews will happen at their chosen location. Out of hours work will also be required in order to engage with our care leavers, many of whom are in employment and training.
- You will be an organised and experienced social worker with 5 years post qualifying experience in children's services. You will have a good understanding of all legislation and guidance relating to Fostering, Child Protection and Looked After Children. You will have experience of working with foster carers and specialist skills required for the chairing of foster carer reviews.
Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Extensive experience within a similar role (IRO)
