Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for an Inclusion Manager/Designated Safeguarding Lead to work full-time based in Newham.

The pay rate for this locum Inclusion Manager/Designated Safeguarding Lead job is £38.00 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • Be responsible and accountable for all day to day operational matters pertaining to the Integration Services with particular emphasis on all matters relating to quality for teaching and learning, staffing issues, health and safety including Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Ensure that all Integration plans (SIEF and SIP) are in place, regularly reviewed (at least termly) and linked closely to budgets
  • Be responsible for managing partnership arrangements with key stakeholders (parents/carers, professionals, other service providers) particularly with commissioning agencies and referrers
  • Ensure that all partners (parents/carers, professionals, other service providers) are provided with regular reports (termly) and attendance data (weekly) on their respective pupils
  • Develop cooperative working relationships with  colleagues, particularly in the management development group, to ensure that the work of the Integration Service is well represented
  • Process referrals within clear timescales and in regular liaison with the Business Development Manager and with clear expectations about projected outcomes
  • Work closely with the Head Teacher and Deputy(s) in producing clear evidence of pupil progress, accreditation and outcomes for all monitoring organisations i.e. Ofsted and Local Authorities and internal Quality Assurance visits
  • Work with the Head Teacher to ensure that problems/issues are investigated, remedial action taken and lessons learnt for those involved and for the wider company
  • Ensure that the Head Teacher is made aware of significant developments within the Integration Service
  • Present all complex cases, new referrals and Integration plans to the weekly Company Pupil Placement Panel and attend weekly pupil movement meetings with the Business Development Manager in the school
  • Ensure all pupils are helped to understand our complaints procedure and their rights to remain free from harm

Requirements of the Inclusion Manager/Designated Safeguarding Lead:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children’s Services
