Sanctuary Personnel, a leading and award-winning recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Homeless Substance Misuse Senior Practitioner to work based in Tottenham.
The pay rate for this locum Homeless Substance Misuse Senior Practitioner job is £20.00 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Duties:
- Work alongside the Clinical Services Manager, Team Managers and the wider management and medical team to deliver safe, effective, safe and high-quality care to service users affected by rough sleeping and using substances
- Provide line management and supervision to homeless substance misuse practitioners, peers and volunteers, and other staff members as required
- Represent the Grove in borough and partnership meetings, working collaboratively with homelessness, health other relevant agencies, to ensure a joined-up approach to treatment and care planning
- Proactively working to break down barriers to treatment and providing feedback on any pathway or delivery issues to the Management Team
- Contribute to the design, development, implementation and ongoing management of an outward-facing delivery model, co-located in existing homelessness settings, working with service users and homelessness teams to co-design a delivery model that will support engagement in treatment and reduce harm
- Work with service users who use opiates and need to access opioid substitute treatment (OST)
- Supporting the service user engagement in the initial assessment and initiation on OST
- Holding a caseload of clients in OST, testing for illicit drug use, liaising with pharmacies regarding dispensing and supervised consumption, GP liaison and producing/issuing prescriptions under the supervision of a medical prescriber
- Deliver structured psychosocial and psychoeducation interventions to non-opiate users, including harm reduction/minimization strategies, motivational interviewing, problem-solving, and behavioural interventions and counselling techniques as negotiated with individual service users
