Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Health Visitor to fill a full-time within a Children and Family Community Services in Guernsey. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The salary for this Health Visitor job is Band 6 - £34,763 - £41,956 BAR £43,327 - £47,094 per annum (Assignment Rate).
Job Summary:
- The post holder will have overall responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the management of a defined caseload, providing an up-to-date quality service to all clients.
Duties:
- To manage and prioritise a caseload.
- To assess plan and deliver a high quality health visiting service.
- To refer children to paediatricians, speech and language therapists, social workers,
- GP's, orthoptists, physiotherapists, educational psychologist, audiologist, dieticians and school nurses, etc.
- To provide specialist advice to other agencies such as Health and Social Care, Police, Housing and Environmental Health.
- To provide information which enables families to make informed choices about their health
- To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies to meet the needs of our clients.
- To work towards a family centred public health agenda, which fits in with identified public health priorities.
- To provide child health clinics within the community, where parents can access help and advice.
- To be aware of the need to be vigilant to child protection issues and act accordingly.
- To be aware of, and the need to comply with all Health and Social Care policies, procedures, guidelines, and to follow all Health Visiting standards and philosophies
Requirements of the Health Visitor:
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - HV Qualification
- Current NMC registration
- Significant NHS experience as a Health Visitor
