Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced Head of Special Needs Assessment Service in Wandsworth.

The salary for this permanent Head of Special Needs Assessment Service role is £47,511 - £60,574 per annum.

Duties of the Head of Special Needs Assessment Service:

  • Establish robust leadership and governance over the Special Needs Assessment Service (SNAS) to ensure effective delivery of Wandsworth's statutory responsibilities for children/young people with special educational needs.
  • Annual reviews - ensuring statutory deadlines are met, and there is value for money for children and young people provision and placement.
  • Children and young people's safeguarding, including Children Missing Education (CME)- and those at risk of CME on the SNAS caseload so that they are overseen rigorously and in partnership with relevant services.
  • SEND Tribunal appeals so that they are managed efficiently within deadlines, that the LA's case is robust and regular data is available on numbers and outcomes of appeals. Disseminate learning from appeal outcomes.
  • Hold regular SNAS meetings and supervision surgeries to ensure SNAS staff are supported in their caseload.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Head of Special Needs, Disability and Psychology commensurate with the grade.

Requirements of the Head of Special Needs Assessment Service:

  • Extensive experience within SEN.
  • Experience within a similar role
