Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Social Work Head of Service to work full-time based in Doncaster, within the Extended Leadership Team.
The pay rate for this locum Head of Service job is £450 - £550 per day and is a 3-month contract.
Duties:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure delivery of the Mayor's vision and all the principal outcomes of the Council's Leadership Team
- Lead the Adult Social Care function that focuses on improving future options and safely reducing restrictive practices for adults with a learning disability, complex live and/or with mental health issues, including paying close attention to preparation for adulthood as a critical stage in developing lifelong outcomes
- Determining and enabling the delivery of effective services
- Taking lead responsibility for providing services and support to external bodies, customers and communities, such that residents and customers receive the best value and feel safe and are safe
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of people in line with the council's people management protocols and ensuring that teams are deployed efficiently and effectively to meet the needs and strategic priorities of the council
- Actively representing the Council on external bodies and networks to make sure that council interests are managed effectively
- Monitoring and developing policy and strategies relevant to the service area to ensure statutory and professional standards are met and, where viable, are beneficial to the council and customers and ensuring that clear records are kept and mechanisms are in place to monitor emerging risks
- Ensuring people and communities feel safe and are safe, including working within the Council's statutory safeguarding duties and appropriately seeking to identify and address all forms of abuse and neglect
