Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a job based in Haringey for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse (CPN) to work within the Community Rehabilitation Teams.

The pay rate for this full-time role is £25 - £27 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • Work as a Care Co-ordinator in the multidisciplinary Community Rehabilitation Team
  • Provide effective care and specialist advice for people with complex mental health needs, and their carers, and to support their wellbeing and promote recovery
  • Liaise with other agencies in planning and assessing programmes of care
  • Provide formal, ongoing clinical supervision and caseload management supervision to junior and less experienced community mental health staff, as directed
  • Undertake duties designed to extend clinical and managerial expertise as delegated by the manager when required
  • Carry overall responsibility for the management of a caseload, acting as a care co-ordinator, as defined by the Care Programme Approach (CPA)
  • Support Service Improvement developments within the service
  • Undertake teaching of qualified and unqualified staff, including students

Requirements of the Community Mental Health Nurse:

  • Valid NMC registration under Mental Health/Registered Social Worker
  • Previous experience working as a CPN
  • Dip/BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy
  • Evidence of further post-registration education and training or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
  • Relevant qualification in Psychosocial Interventions with people with severe and enduring mental health problems
  • Post registration experience, working with people with complex mental health problems
  • Experience of being involved in audit and service improvement
  • Ability to work under pressure in acute situations with minimal supervision
  • Ability to undertake evidence based interventions with people suffering from a range of mental health problems
  • Ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessment and implement risk management plans
  • Basic IT skills
  • Knowledge of statutory policy relating to mental health care delivery incl. Care Programme Approach, Mental Health Act, Care Act, Mental Capacity Act
  • Ability to travel across the geographical areas served by the Trust
  • Ability to work occasional flexible hours
