Social Worker – Duty and Assessment Team, Exeter, earning up to £38 per hour, Hourly Rate, DoE, for 3 months.
We are thrilled to present this exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join our Duty and Assessment Team in the vibrant city of Exeter. We are looking for someone who is eager to make a real difference in the lives of children and families across Mid and East Devon. As part of this crucial team, you will have the chance to build positive and meaningful relationships, working collaboratively to achieve safety and stability. This role requires you to be in the office five days a week during duty weeks and three days a week during non-duty weeks, ensuring you can provide timely support and handle emergencies effectively.

What you will do:
- Conduct Child and Family Assessments to determine the level of support or protection required.
- Carry out section 47 Child Protection Enquiries when necessary.
- Collaborate with specialist practitioners on complex assessments such as Regulation 24s, Viability Assessments, pre-birth assessments and Parenting Assessments.
- Work directly with children, young people, and families to achieve positive, family-led outcomes.
- Model good practice and support the team under the Ofsted Improvement Plan.
- Provide timely interventions and handle any emergencies on your caseload.
