Sanctuary Health has a permanent job vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Endoscopy Practitioner to work in Enfield. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of general nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The salary for this permanent Endoscopy Practitioner role is £27,000 per annum.

Role purpose:

  • To provide quality planned care across the endoscopy patient pathway, supporting and assisting the Endoscopy Practitioner Lead in the management and organisation of care provision within the endoscopy unit.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.
  • Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
  • Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.
  • Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.
  • Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients; demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.
  • Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
  • Provide quality planned care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures within own scope of practice.
  • To participate in the improvement in Essential Quality Requirements and Best Practice standards for flexible endoscopy services including decontamination and clinical care.
  • To develop and enhance the own skills and knowledge.
  • Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
  • Respect the patient's dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.
  • Participate in departmental communication, policy development, and continuous quality improvement and meetings.
  • To prove safe and efficient decontamination of flexible endoscopes.

Requirements of the Endoscopy Practitioner:

  • You will be a registered nurse and will have a valid NMC pin.
  • A genuine commitment to adhering to the NMC Codes of Conduct and expanding your professional development.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Practitioner or equivalent in an endoscopy service.
  • Experience and training in pain management, care of the deteriorating patient, care of patient under conscious sedation requiring monitored recovery.
  • Experience of clinical governance and audit.
