Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a permanent role for a Deputy Ward Manager to work 37.5 hours per week, based in Birmingham.

The salary for this permanent Deputy Ward Manager job is £34,690 per annum.


  • Take an active role in managing the unit under supervision of the Ward Manager
  • Directly participate in patient care, whilst providing clinical leadership to the nursing team, encouraging the delivery of high standards of patient care
  • Provide leadership of, and management to the nursing team and in support of the Ward Manager, for whom they will also deputise
  • Driving quality reporting within the systems that are used within this hospital
  • Deputising in the Ward Managers absence

Requirements of Deputy Ward Manager:

  • Valid NMC registration
  • A degree or equivalent within Nursing
  • Experience at Staff Nurse Band E or Deputy Ward Manager level
  • Proven leadership skills, along with a strong drive to develop themselves and the dedicated Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • An interest in working with young people and good insight into the principles relevant to Acute  services
  • A keen interest and motivation to support development within our Acute Team
  • An ability to adapt to the individual needs of our diverse patient population
  • Ability to make and justify clinical decisions based on policy, experience and risk assessment
  • Passion about change, innovation and service improvement
  • Willing to undertake a DBS check
