Sanctuary Social Care currently has a permanent vacancy based in Blackpool, within the Edge of Care Team, for a Deputy Team Manager. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.

As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive salary of £38,813 - £42,683 per annum.

Duties:

  • Ensure through effective leadership that partnership working with children and families is at the core of practice.
  • Promote solution focused practice that builds effective relationships with children and families to elicit their needs and views and embed active participation in practice
  • To be able to communicate effectively in highly charged, complex or challenging circumstances and ensure staff are equipped to do this within Early Help, Children in Need, Child Protection and Children in our Care and Court arenas.
  • Hold a small caseload
  • To provide reflective supervision to staff as and when directed by the Team Manager.
  • Oversee and quality assure assessments in accordance with statutory/regulatory and operational standards, policy, and procedures for the service.
  • Oversee and quality assure a range of interventions for service users in accordance with statutory/regulatory and operational standards, policy and procedures for the service, promoting use of evidence, research and theory to support practice in complex and changing circumstances.
  • Make proactive use of supervision to extend effective practice, reflection and career development and to meet the objectives of Individual Performance Appraisal.
  • Provide professional, reflective supervision and support to staff as relevant to the needs of the team, e.g. Job Outline staff induction, newly qualified social workers, students, as part of further learning identified through audits.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records safely and confidentially in accordance with Blackpool Council's policies and procedures.
  • To effectively use data and performance management information to improve practice

Requirements of the Deputy Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's services
  • Meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Statement to Operate at an Advanced/managerial Level
