Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced Deputy Head of Special Needs Assessment Service in Wandsworth.

The salary for this permanent Deputy Head of Special Needs Assessment Service role is £42,656 - £51,689 per annum.

Duties of the Deputy Head of Special Needs Assessment Service:

  • Deputise for the Head of the Special Needs Assessment Service (SNAS) to establish robust leadership and governance over the Special Needs Assessment Service (SNAS) to ensure effective delivery of Wandsworth's statutory responsibilities for children/young people with special educational needs.
  • Support Head of SNAS to ensure caseloads are equitable and sustainable, and that casework is administered efficiently, professionally and in a timely way.
  • Lead a team of Case Managers and Casework Assistants within the Special Needs Assessment Service (SNAS), taking responsibility for coordinating and managing their work, providing advice and support to them to ensure effective delivery.
  • Support the Head of SNAS to ensure that SNAS maintains up- to-date knowledge of legislation and case law in relation to SEN and Disability and that staff are made aware of requirements in the light of these.
  • Support the Head of SNAS in the development of policy and procedures and contribute to developments in the provision of special school and unit places.

Requirements of the Deputy Head of Special Needs Assessment Service:

  • Extensive experience within SEN.
  • Experience within a similar role
