We are looking for someone who possesses a strong attention to detail, an inquisitive mind and can demonstrate a naturally organised approach to join our Credit Control team.

What you will be doing

  • Taking control of designated customer accounts as directed by the Head of Credit Control.
  • Proactively ensure timely collection of debt in line with credit terms by telephone, letters & email chasing.
  • Ensure timely collection of invoices in line with credit terms by telephone, letters, and email chasing.
  • Manually upload invoices to client systems where required to expedite payment.
  • Report promptly any potential problem accounts or bad debt to Head of Credit Control.
  • Hold regular debt review meetings with key clients.
  • Work to achieve set personal and group targets in relation to cash collections, aged debt, and debtor days.
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required by the business.
  • Maintain accurate records of communication with customers and status of debt.
  • Resolve invoice issues in a timely manner liaising with client, sales and other departments as required.
  • Raising of approved credit notes and re-invoicing where required for clients following queries and full investigation.
  • Allocating of credit notes or unallocated payments on the ledger as required.
  • Issue dunning letters and statements in line with company credit control process.

Desired but not essential

  • Experience of Sage accounting or similar applications
  • Previous experience of a similar role
  • AAT qualified

What do you need to know

Working hours are 35 per week between Monday to Friday with no weekends

Salary between £20,000 to £22,500 depending on experience

Opportunity to earn up to 20% monthly bonus for achieving personal and group targets
