Sanctuary Social Care currently has a permanent vacancy based in Hertford for a Consultant Social Worker to work full-time within a Family Safeguarding Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children's Services and be HCPC Registered.

As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive salary of £39,782 - £42,683 per annum.

Hertfordshire County Council is looking for committed and innovative Consultant Social Workers who have strong leadership skills to join our Safeguarding teams. This is an exciting opportunity to shape children's social work by working closely with management while still remaining hands on.

This role will include holding a small caseload of complex work while transitioning into a management position. You will be a role model for good social work practice and use your experience to develop less experienced staff. You will have passion for achieving better outcomes for vulnerable children and their families and this will be demonstrated through applying theory and research to frontline practice.

Your enthusiasm for continued professional development will be put to the test as you make the transition into your first management role. This will include conducting supervision meetings and supporting other members of the team and providing management cover in the Team Manager's absence. Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work

  • Current HCPC registration

  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
