Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Consultant Practitioner to work full-time in the Isle of Wight, within the Initial Adult Social Care Contact Team (IASCC). The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Adults' Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The pay rate for this locum Consultant Practitioner job is £43.61 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • To undertake the day to day management of social work practice within the team, including the development of team members' skills and service delivery to ensure a high quality of practice that promotes independence, recovery, choice, and autonomy.

Requirements of the Consultant Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Adults' Services
  • Clear experience and operational knowledge of managing workload in a busy and pressurised front-line team
  • Be able to follow a transformation plan and offer positive support to the team through this
  • To be able to accommodate change and lead a team in challenging circumstances
  • To have a breadth of knowledge and experience in supervising and supporting complex case work
  • Have a clear understanding of and experience working with Adult Social Care statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and other primary legislation and guidance including Continuing Health Care.
  • Be able to offer clear and concise direction for team members about the above legal frameworks / guidance
  • To be able to understand the importance of data collection and interpret this
  • To be able to quality assure workflow to a high standard and positively challenge things that need to be improved with member of staff or teams
  • Must have a good understanding of the role and the complexity of the work undertaken to achieve the best outcomes for people who are being assessed under the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
