Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a permanent vacancy for a Community Support Worker to work based in Maidenhead, within the Community Mental Health Team.

The salary for this permanent Community Support Worker job is £26,875 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • To attend and fully complete an induction programme and to undertake ongoing training. Attend mandatory training as required.
  • To attend and participate in regular line management supervision, STR supervision and annual appraisals.
  • To apply initiative and judgment in decision making and in judging when to seek advice relating to day to day duties.
  • Participate in STR peer groups as appropriate and contribute to the development of the STR role.
  • To respect service user confidentiality, dignity, privacy, and independence at all times.
  • To keep informed and up-to-date on current initiatives in the mental health and care fields and participate in continuing professional development.
  • To promote anti-discriminatory practice, including the acknowledgment and celebration of diversity.
  • Participate with the multi-disciplinary team, in providing an environment which supports the learning of junior STR workers, students and volunteers on placement with the team.
  • To take an active role in projects relating to STR workers, including publicising the STR role, and promoting information about the STR values.
  • Take an active role in recruitment and selection of junior STR workers as required by the team manager – recruitment panel.
  • Take a key role in monitoring, evaluation, and audit of the STR workers project – evaluation form.

Requirements of the Community Support Worker:

  • Recent UK experience working as a Support Worker.
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent experience.
  • Diploma / degree.
  • Good general education to GCSE level.
  • Experience in working in a mental health setting.
  • Knowledge in risk assessment.
  • IT Skills – competent in use of Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to organise own workload and work confidentially under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation.
  • Experience of working in a health or social care environment.
  • Must have a full current driving licence and have daily use of a car.
