Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Community Social Worker to work part time based in Shropshire, within the Community Interventions Pathway.

The pay rate for this locum Community Social Worker job is £28 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 09:00 am – 17:00 pm

Duties:

  • Work across the West of the County as needs arise (Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Ludlow)
  • Work flexibly, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and effective clinical reasoning
  • Hold a caseload of service users for whom they care co-coordinate within a Care Programme Approach, provide supervision for Band 5 practitioners and support workers and work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Working with other agencies, families, carers and local communities
  • Contribute to the development of services and develop themselves personally and professionally in order to provide an evidenced based service
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team working alongside Medical, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Support Worker colleagues

Requirements of the Community Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • An experienced Community Mental Health Practitioner
  • A forward thinking and dynamic mental health practitioner with good leadership skills with relevant knowledge and experience
  • Someone who is recovery-focused and has an interest in supporting patients experiencing a mental illness
  • Be able to demonstrate drive and motivation in providing evidence based interventions and support to individuals with severe and enduring mental health disorders
  • Be able to function autonomously and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience of leading groups is an advantage
  • Experience of working within a community mental health setting is desirable
  • Be flexible within your working approach and delivery
  • Be able to meet the travel requirements of the role in order to travel across the full geography of the catchment area
