Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Adults Community Psychiatric Nurse to work in a Depot Injections Team based in Rotherham. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Mental Health Nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The pay rate for this full-time role is £20.06 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Summary:
- Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, assessing occupational and vocational needs and providing medication interventions on an individual and group basis to service users with mental health needs.
- To provide supervision to support staff and contribute to the development of vocational pathways in partnership with a range of other agencies ensuring that occupational needs are addressed as part of safe effective treatment and discharge.
Duties:
- Demonstrate excellence in clinical practice through assessment, treatment and evaluation of group activities and individual vocational programmes.
- To administer prescribed medication and monitor medication side effects using appropriate assessment tools.
- Supervise support staff in implementing group and individual vocational activities.
- Participate in the development of community based vocational placements enabling service users to work towards vocational goals in line with current evidence based practice.
- To undertake a key worker role for a defined number of service users with a primary need for OT/vocational intervention.
- Liaise with a range of external partners to develop opportunities for service users to access resources in the wider community.
- Assess and prescribe small aids and equipment and recommend adaptations to maximise independence for service users.
- Promote service user and carer involvement in all aspects of service user care.
Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:
- Valid NMC registration under Mental Health.
- Experience working within a similar role would be highly desirable.
- A degree or equivalent within Mental Health Nursing (RMN trained).
