Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a job based in Chelmsford for a Band 7 Community Physiotherapist.

The pay rate for this locum Community Physiotherapist job is £30 - £31 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an ongoing contract.

Duties:

  • Autonomously manage a complex caseload of patients using clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection and analysis to support assessment and treatment
  • Undertake comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients who may have neurological and complex conditions including multi pathology
  • Use well developed clinical reasoning to select appropriate assessment techniques, which lead you to determine a clinical diagnosis of the patient’s needs
  • Seeking and sharing personal and potentially sensitive information will the patient
  • Analyse the information gained from the assessment to formulate an accurate prognosis for the patient and then discuss and agree goals and outcomes for treatment with them
  • Set realistic timescales for achieving these
  • Give a full explanation of the patient’s condition and proposed treatment to the patient and discuss the expected outcomes with them
  • Ensure the patient understands this and agrees to the treatment plan giving consent to it
  • Select appropriate treatment techniques from a wide range of specialist skills available
  • Be personally responsible for all aspects of safety relating to equipment used when treating the patient or issued to the patient for their own use
  • Be responsible for checking and/or teaching competency of non-qualified staff in using equipment e.g. walking aids, appliances etc
  • Develop collaborative treatment programmes with patients, carers and colleagues, demonstrating client centred reasoning and specialist problem solving techniques
  • Implement the appropriate Physiotherapy intervention to enable the individual to achieve his/her optimum level of independence

Requirements of the Community Physiotherapist:

  • Degree or equivalent within Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registered as a Physiotherapist
  • Recent post qualifying experience working as a Physiotherapist
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Be able to work within the legal framework as appropriate
  • Negotiation and motivation skills and the need to work tactfully and sensitively with patients who are unable or unwilling to accept their diagnosis
