Sanctuary Personnel, an award-winning and renowned Recruitment Agency is looking for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist in Veterans/Trauma - Community Mental Health to work 37.5 hours per week, based in Camden.

The pay rate for this locum Clinical Specialist role is £30.48 - £31.24 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 09:00 am – 17:00 pm
  • This role may require some occasional later finishes
  • The post holder will be expected to travel across the London region and in addition, may be required to work flexibly outside these hours depending on service requirements

Duties:

  • Carry out specialist assessment, deliver veteran-sensitive intervention and advice, and support a complex caseload
  • Work with veterans accessing the 'in-house' Complex Treatment Service (CTS), and liaise closely with the High-Intensity Service (HIS), two parts of London-wide NHS veterans' services, based on the same site
  • Liaison with wider NHS, statutory bodies, local authorities and the third sector, including armed forces charities To ensure the appropriate support is in place for patients and their families
  • Triage of referrals into the TILS, liaison with referrers, engaging veterans, conducting in-depth assessments using a high level of expertise, as well as drawing up and co-ordinating specialist veteran-specific risk assessments and care plans involving multiple others, including peers
  • Offer psychologically informed case management intervention
  • Play a key role in supporting veterans' friends, family and carers
  • Provide a co-ordinated wrap around service of care
  • Sustaining good working links with the military and charitable organisations in the sector, as well as other NHS/statutory organisations
  • Contribute to governance and audit within the team
  • Operate to the requirements of the service operational policy and strategy, and deliver safe, evidence-based, effective, culturally competent care in a timely manner to veterans

Requirements of the Clinical Specialist:

  • Degree or equivalent in Nursing
  • Current NMC registration
  • Previous UK experience
  • Care Notes records system experience
  • A nursing or allied health professional background
  • Experience of working in partnership with existing veterans' organisations
