Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated x2 Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to work based in Maidenhead.

The pay rate for this locum Clinical Psychologist job is paying £40 - £50 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 3-month contract.

Job Summary:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of individual and group treatment programmes.

  • To direct and support others to carryout evidence-based psychological interventions.

  • Co-ordinate the recording of, analyse and present data relevant to the young person's social adjustment and progress in treatment.

  • To work with members of the multidisciplinary team to contribute to effective risk assessment, risk management, treatment, support needs and quality of life of the ward's young people.

  • To engage in clinical-administration (e.g. maintaining psychometrics, bibliographies, etc.).

  • To appropriately administer and interpret clinical or neuropsychological psychometric tests (dependent on training) and communicate these test data in a professional, yet accessible way to colleagues, relatives and young people.

  • To write reports as required (for example, CPA, tribunal, statistical reports relating to behaviours that challenge, patient engagement, treatment outcome, risk assessments and clinical governance reports) and present as a 'professional witness' where appropriate.

  • Provide clinical governance data as required by hospital, service and psychology service protocols.

  • To provide informal and formal psychological advice and consultation as required by the hospital. To include involvement in the formulation, implementation evaluation of hospital/company policy

Requirements of the Clinical Psychologist:

  • Current HCPC registration as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

  • Post-graduate doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS

  • Have eligibility for charted status with the BPS

  • Have post-qualification experience of working as a practitioner psychologist. Experience of working with children, young people and families in a secure setting is desirable but not essential.
