Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Care Proceedings Case Manager to fill a full-time role within Children's Service based in Havering.

The pay rate for this locum Care Proceedings Case Manager job is £35.00 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Weekend and evening working is a regular feature of this job. There is a potential requirement to work at any Council site.

Duties:

  • Work with the courts and a range of stakeholders in the Family Justice System to ensure the progression of care proceedings cases
  • Monitor implementation of the court's requirements in care proceedings cases
  • Escalate to the courts if there is a delay that would require the case to be relisted
  • Identify system issues that lead to delays in care proceedings
  • Provide direct coaching /mentoring support to social workers in their preparation of submissions to the court
  • Work with agencies across the Family Justice System to monitor, measure and track costs incurred by all agencies, to gain a view of whole system costs

Requirements of the Care Proceedings Case Manager:

  • A recognised and relevant professional social work qualification (Degree / Diploma in Social Work)
  • Registered on Social Work England
  • Management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years recent or relevant experience in front line Child Protection to Senior Practitioner Level in the UK
  • Experience of dealing with the public
  • ABE Trained
  • PQ qualifications or have a Masters in the social work field
  • High-level understanding of the care proceedings/family justice system and experience of undertaking care proceedings
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Ability to manage and ensure consistency across financial/cost data
  • Highly effective in the use of MS Office applications
  • Understanding of the Children Act 1989, 2004, 2006
  • Good understanding of administrative functions
