Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner to work full-time based in Southampton. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of mental health nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The pay rate for this locum CAMHS Practitioner role is £30 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 3-month contract.
Duties:
- To work individually and jointly with the team to provide assessment, treatment and consultation service to children, adolescents and their families within Swanwick Lodge Secure home and to work with the wider care systems which impact on the welfare of the child.
- Work within a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team involved in the assessment and treatment of children and young people with complex mental health difficulties.
Requirements of the CAMHS Practitioner:
- Professional qualification leading to registration with professional body e.g. Mental Health Nursing,
- Family Therapy, Occupational Therapist, Child Psychotherapy or other professional qualification with evidence of robust community CAMH experience and the use of CAPA approach to clinical assessment and intervention.
- Post qualification experience of providing an assessment, treatment and consultation service to children and families with, complex and enduring emotional/behavioural problems using a
- CAPA approach within a CAMH service.
- To maintain professional registration and practice within legal and professional frameworks such as the Children Act and Professional Body guidelines.
- Knowledge of national and local guidelines/policy regarding the provision of public sector services to children/young people and their families.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other professionals within the team.
- Knowledge of working together arrangements, in particular, Children in Need assessments Clinical Risk assessment and Child Protection guidelines.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice in working with children and young people with emotional behavioural and mental health difficulties. Experience of CAMH multi-disciplinary team working
- Ability to provide a direct assessment and treatment to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and their families or their professional carers.
- Ability to organise and prioritise client caseload
