Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 7 CAMHS Mental Health Nurse to work full-time in Bedford. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of mental health nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The pay rate for this locum CAMHS Mental Health Nurse role is £32.00 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • Undertake rapid triage and assessment for all referrals
  • Undertake further assessment, treatment and onward signposting for CAMHS referrals dependant on the treatment pathway
  • Undertake clinical assessments
  • Assessing and managing risk
  • Participating and leading in joint complex triage assessments with other disciplines and other agencies
  • Charing and co-ordinating the MDT meetings
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of child mental health-related training programmes
  • Providing mentoring and supervision to student practitioners whilst on training placement
  • Seek support and consultation regarding individual cases
  • Maintain an awareness of current developments in the field of child and adolescent mental health by attending training courses and workshops
  • Maintain records of clinical activity

Requirements of the CAMHS Mental Health Nurse:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Significant NHS experience as a CAMHS Practitioner
  • RiO user
  • Enhanced CRB check
  • A qualification in Child Psychotherapy, Clinical Psychology, Family Therapy, or Nursing & Registration
  • CAMHS experience
  • Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Family Therapy Qualification
  • UKCP Registered
  • Child Psychotherapy Honours degree
  • Registered member of ACP
  • Postgraduate Doctorate in Counselling
  • HCPC registration
  • Registration with the British Association of Play Therapist
  • Strong clinical experience of care planning, assessment and goal setting
  • Skilled in emergency and crisis assessments
  • Teaching skills, both in clinical setting and education centres
  • Basic computer skills
