Sanctuary Personnel, a leading and award winning recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated CAMHS Mental Health Nurse to fill a full-time role based in Wisbech.

The pay rate for this CAMHS Mental Health Nurse job is £35 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-6 month contract.

Duties:

  • Deliver an agreed package of care, to Children and families, with complex problems across the developmental spectrum, and managing these within the context of multidisciplinary working
  • Provide expert and specialist assessment, formulation and treatment using evidence based therapeutic interventions, to a small group of children and their families who cannot be supported by any other services
  • Deliver training and support to foster carers, helping them to develop insight and a toolkit to enable carers to parent in an attachment-focused and trauma informed manner
  • Provide consultation to other professionals working with the family and young person allocated to you within children’s social care, health and education teams
  • Respond to child protection concerns which arise in the course of interventions, in line with child protection procedures and guidance and to take responsibility for one’s own decision making in high-risk cases using the supervisory framework
  • Manage frequent exposure to highly distressing and emotionally charged circumstances, and maintain substantial mental effort through frequent and intense levels of concentration and attention, including maintaining therapeutic rapport with a large group of people across an age range and with often multiple and conflicting requests, views and abilities
  • Ensure the outcomes of the service are delivered across the two Authority’s principles, values and Key Performance Indicators

Requirements of the CAMHS Mental Health Nurse:

  • Formal post graduate qualification as a Mental Health Nurse/Clinical Psychologist or Evidence based Psychotherapy
  • Live NMC/BPS/HCPC or any other recognised professional registration
  • Be able to travel efficiently across service areas
  • An ability to work within a change process in the context of shifting priorities
  • Experience working with children and young people in local authorities, healthcare or education
  • Experience of working as a qualified psychologist/therapist within CAMHS, Children in Care (CiC), services, or services related to safeguarding and/or complex families which could include Local Authority, Forensic Services, NHS or relevant Third Sector organisations
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course, presenting with a full range of clinical acuity across a range of care settings
  • Experience of assessing and managing high risk individuals or families in the community in collaboration with a multi-agency network of practitioners and subject matter experts
  • Demonstrable experience of working with challenging families where concerns relating to parenting and child welfare have been identified
  • Experience of working with family systems where children have emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties
  • Experience of working with troubled children/families using therapeutic approaches including attachment theory, trauma-focused CBT and other evidenced-based approaches
  • Experience of delivering structured consultation, teaching, training and/or supervision on cases which have rapidly changing needs
  • Demonstrate highly developed skills in the formulation of highly complex presenting needs, from a clinical perspective and in the implementation of highly specialist therapies, interventions and management techniques
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of theory and practice frameworks relating to the treatment of difficulties relating to trauma, bereavement attachment and loss
  • Ability to form positive working relationships with a range of colleagues across Agencies
