Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 8 Safeguarding Lead to work full-time based in Barnet. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Adults services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Safeguarding Lead job is £35 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Requirements of the Safeguarding Lead:

  • Professional Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS).

  • Registered Social Worker with HCPC

  • Extensive Post qualifying experience and senior management experience

  • Professional qualification -registered nurse, learning disabilities nurse or social worker.

  • Essential knowledge of safeguarding adults and children including legislation.

  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding operationally.

  • Experience of Multi-agency liaison and working in a multi-agency setting

  • Experience of Working with vulnerable groups

  • Experience of working with people with Mental Health issues or complex needs

  • Knowledge of Serious case review/safeguarding Adult reviews and Root cause analysis

  • Experience of designing and delivering safeguarding training packages

  • Experience of undertaking clinical audit and audit analysis

  • Ability to work across health, local authority, police and voluntary sectors

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Good IT skills

  • High level of supervision skills

  • Ability to respond to and think in a crisis.

  • Knowledge of the Prevent agenda

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, influencing, negotiation and liaison skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Good time management skills

  • Flexible, adaptable, energetic

  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure

  • Ability to prioritise own work

  • Critically listen and respond appropriately to complex information

  • Confident to work with a wide range of professional groups

  • IT literate including skills in Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook.

  • Willingness to travel across sites as required to discharge duties
