Sanctuary Health is currently looking for experienced and dedicated Band 6 Specialist Practitioner (School Nurse) to work full-time within a Children's Community Care Service based in St Helens. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The pay rate for this locum Specialist Practitioner job is £25 per hour (Assignment rate). Initial 3-month contract with a view to this being extended.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with individuals, families, carers, communities, Primary Healthcare Teams and other agencies to undertake a comprehensive specialist assessment of patients / service users in order to inform a personalised plan of care/intervention.
- Formulate and deliver an individual treatment programme using specialist assessment, reasoning and treatment skills based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and a range of treatment options.
- Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes using an accepted/ appropriate range of techniques as required.
- To demonstrate the promotion of healthy lifestyle practices to the general public by the utilisation of teaching skills
- Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
Requirements of the Specialist Practitioner:
- An in-date DBS is required for all roles/work
- RGN qualified
- Registered on the NMC
- Recent UK experience within nursing.
