Sanctuary Health has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to work in Guernsey. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC. We offer a full relocation package which includes interview and relocation travel, this is in addition to our competitive pay and annual bonus.

The salary for this Permanent Specialist Occupational Therapist job is £31,531 - £42,715 per annum.

Summary:

  • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team within Stroke / Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) inpatient and community settings of HSC adult services.
  • To be responsible for the delivery of a specialised Occupational Therapy service within Stroke/ABI team, and providing a seamless transfer of care.
  • Provide supervision and facilitate professional development with Occupational Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapy students.
  • To have an active role in education of staff through in-service training, multi-disciplinary training programmes, IHSCS programmes, OT student training and work experience; and to work in an education role with other staff groups and with the wider multi-disciplinary team and outside agencies/charities.
  • Have a commitment to working within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) by collaboratively working with professional colleagues to provide a high standard of multi-disciplinary service.
  • Furthermore we offer subsidised accommodation for those travelling to the Island alone, and an 8 year employment permit for those wishing to bring a partner or family.

Requirements of the Specialist Occupational Therapist:

  • Diploma of the College of Occupational Therapists or B.Sc O.T. or other professional qualification recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working at Band 5 level or above as an Occupational Therapist in 2-3 different clinical areas/rotations, one of which must have been with Older People or Physical Disabilities.
