Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6/7 Clinical Nurse Specialist (Registered Learning Disability Nurse/Community) to work full-time based in South West London. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Mental Health Nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The pay rate for this Clinical Nurse Specialist role is £30.41 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is a 3-month contract.
Job Summary:
- To deliver a competent and co-ordinated nursing service in partnership with service users, members of the multidisciplinary Community Learning Disability Team and other agencies.
- To work as an autonomous, highly specialist practitioner, managing a client caseload as agreed with Clinical Team Leader
- To provide advice and expertise in care planning and risk management to other health and social care professionals
- To provide support, supervision and education to carers and clients with specialist care needs
- To participate in the teaching and development of colleagues, students and colleagues in other agencies about this specialist area
- To line manage and clinically supervise nurses within Wandsworth Learning Disability Team
- To take responsibility for being the lead clinician in identified clinical areas, as delegated by the Clinical Team Leader
- To contribute to and/or lead on service development initiatives and projects
Requirements of the Clinical Nurse Specialist:
- Valid NMC registration under Mental Health.
- A degree or equivalent within Mental Health Nursing (RMN trained)
- Recent UK nursing experience
- Experience of working in a community setting
- Experience of assessing the needs of people with learning disabilities and developing a robust care plans
- Experience of providing evidence based complex case management in learning disability nursing
- ENB 998 or equivalent
